Unschooling?

This weekend our family is attending an unschooling conference. For those who are saying, "What the heck is UNschooling?" Well so did we for quite a while. In a nutshell it is "free" schooling, life learning, free learning and/or child-led discovery. We have been homeschooling our children since birth and essentially unschooling them all, except Ian the past two years.

And the past two years have been, well lets just say it, an emotional struggle. I finally realized that before we "expected" him to learn what we wanted him to learn, when we wanted to learn it...it was easy. He learned so many things just being a kid, being around us and exploring. We are going back to that, for the love of learning. Will it be easy, maybe not. At least not for us, the parents. We need to unschool ourselves and trust in the process.
